I want to start of saying how big of a fan I've been of your work since 2010. Recently, well not recently, more like for a while now I've felt a lack of progression and growth. I read your comment on how important it is to have a definite subject and how despite rendering, you can't make something greater than its base.
I noticed in this progression map a big transition between 2004-2006. It's like you found your style in 2006. I have to ask what was the driving point, what was the single most factor that helped you hone in on your style?
I also have to comment on the subject of art school. How helpful was attending an art school in your progression? Was there a big focus on a subject that helped you identify with your art? But then you quit art school. Would you say you got more out of being an art student than independently practicing, or the other way around?
forgive my curiosity :{{
